Project Summary:
Opelika Main Street launched the Industry on Track sculpture art exhibit in 2021. Originally meant to be temporary, the sculptures have quickly become a treasured part of downtown Opelika. Funds raised through Save the Sculptures project will go towards the costs of permanently purchasing the sculptures currently displayed. This will allow Opelika residents and visitors to enjoy these great public works of art for many years to come while at the same time contributing to the beauty of our historic downtown.
How this benefits the community:
Public art has been shown to increase a community’s quality of life. By purchasing the four current downtown sculptures, generations of Opelika citizens will continue to enjoy these unique works of art for many years to come.
