Southside Center for the Arts

Project Summary:

Renovation of the last two rooms in the south wing. The renovation of the facility has been an ongoing project for the last 15 years and we are hoping to complete the room renovations with this project. There will still be other replacements like the windows and then the roofs which will need to be redone as it’s been such a long time.

How this benefits the community:

The Southside Center for the Arts continues to attract more and more entities to use the facility. The Opelika Theater uses it almost every day. The Auburn Knights and Civic Chorale practice there. The Community Foundation has their office there as do the Arts Association and Envision Opelika Foundation. Circles Opelika, Creekline, the Charter Council, and the Education, Youth, and Family task force; among others; meet there. These rooms will give more room for visual artists to begin to use the facility and space for more activities.
